Take your taste buds for a test drive at Maui Bros. Pizza Company, a takeout and delivery only restaurant in northwest Houston. In 1977, Ed Barnett, owner of JB's Steakhouse, opened the first Houston pizza delivery operation, Star Pizza, which still features one of the best pizzas in the business. He sold his interest in that operation, but after years of living in the far suburbs of the city and settling for bland pizza, Ed decided that if he wanted a great pie, he'd have to make it himself. Maui Bros. Pizza Company uses only the finest ingredients to fill their handmade crusts. Expect extra lean meats, all-meat pepperoni, high quality Wisconsin cheese and fresh herbs and spices. The favorites are on the menu, but try the specialty pies like Chicken Popeye (white parmesan sauce, grilled chicken breast and sauteed spinach) or Pizza Loca (picante sauce, lean ground beef, grilled chicken breast, onion, Roma tomatos, sliced jalapenos, cheddar cheese and fresh cilantro) to really appreciate the differences here. Mild to blistering wings come with ranch, bleu cheese or Italian dressing. Tossed and Caesar salads, sodas, cheese or garlic breadsticks, and cinnamon stix with frosting are also on the menu. -- Lyn Foster

WORST PIZZA EVER
By joeytxjo on 05/19/2005
ARE YOU KIDDING ME BEST PIZZA??, ITS GARBAGE, I WOULD RATHER EAT DIRT. FIRST OF ALL THEY NEED TO USE REAL OVENS, NOT ONES WHERE THE PIZZA ROLLS OUT. ALSO VERY EXPENSIVE FOR A TINY PIZZA . TRY TONY'S PIZZA ON JONES AND FALLBROOK RD OR BROTHERS PIZZA ON MILLS RD AND PERRY RD, THEY ARE FROM LONG ISLAND,NY AND THEY KNOW HOW TO MAKE PIZZA, OH YEAH AND THEY HAVE REAL OVENS, THEY DON'T MAKE PIZZA THAT ROLLS OUT ON A CONVEYOR BELT.

havent found a better pizza yet
By smokey2939 on 04/07/2005
I have been to many pizza locations around houston and this is by far the best pizza in town. It may cost a little bit more than a dominos but you cant compare the quality. its like comparing a Fuddruckers to a mcdonalds.

New appreciation
By subtlepaper on 02/06/2005
I had always loved the pizza at Maui Bro's I live right down the street from it, and once I quit my previous Job I went straight to Maui Bros and I am now working there. And let me tell you i have gained a whole new appreciation for the pizza there. How its made, How clean they want they place and how fresh everything has to be. Everything has a date on it, nothing old gets put on a pizza. Everything is so fresh and of high quility...I think ive gained about 10 lbs working there. HAHA

Too greasy and the orders are usually wrong
By fbuehner on 12/30/2004
I've had quite a few free pizzas at the West Road location because they get my order wrong half the time. They need to tip the grease off when baking. It's always a soggy mess if you order with several toppings.
