Jazz Kitchen   

Possibly Indy's premier jazz venue, The Jazz Kitchen has a polished yet casual feel. The crowd is diverse and the cuisine is good, but what makes this place hum is the acts. That's not to say that as long as you are here you shouldn't try the ceviche (an appetizer of lime-marinated fish) or the paella. It's just to say that good jazz music is harder to come by in Indy than good food is, and this place has some smoking jazz. You can hear live jazz performances five nights a week, and, while we can't guarantee that all will be top-notch, most of the acts are superb. For a change of pace, another safe bet is the Latin Dance Party on Thursday nights -- though the music is not live, the DJ truly fills the floor.
