I've been going to Barbiere's for over 35 years and still find it hard to beat! Get the garlic bread.

My freshman year at UWM my dad was driving me and all my stuff up and he said he would go there someday. He came to get me one weekend to go home and we stopped and I have been hooked ever since. The gyro just huge; tons of meat and the sause is excellent. Now I live up here and have a car of my own but when I do come home my dad always has me bring home gyros, not just for the family but if i head back in the afternoon i gotta buy about 15-20 everytime for everyone at his office. The staff there knows when I come in to order that many that they're going on a 2 hour car ride so they always put them in a box and put some kinda of towel around them to help keep them warm. I just cant say enough about the place.  More Reviews

What a find! THis place is off of Brady Street, apparently the Wicker Park of Milwaukee. The ambiance was great, playing Portishead on a Sunday morning for those of us nursing a hangover. Wonderful bloody marys and SPICY if you want them that way. Great genuinely friendly staff, and cool surroundings. I had the grits which came in the form of a pinwheel served over an amazing sauce with sundried tomatoes and something i can't even remember now that was delicious. My guy had the crab cakes benedict and it was delicious too. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but we sat inside to be out of the Sun (hangover). I would go back in a second. The best thing about Milwaukee is that it's small enough that you can pretty much get anywhere in 7 minutes. Even if you're staying downtown, you need to take the drive to Hi Hat.  More Reviews

I love this place. The java jive martini is very good. I reccommend the cheese fondu and shrimp angel hair pasta. The atmosphere is very soft and comfortable.  More Reviews
