Georgetowne Inn isn't an actual inn, but the white stucco walls and exposed wood beams evoke the first guesthouse cottages to spring up in colonial America. A condensed little bar welcomes visitors near the door, suggesting an intimate tavern setting, but the two-tier dining space is large and airy, bringing to mind both a homey parlor (a hearth is embedded in one wall) and a voluminous beer hall. Despite its informal appearance, Georgetowne Inn can't help reveling in its absurdly beautiful view of the Point and Three Rivers; simple plate-glass windows let the scenery speak for itself. Less expensive than any other spot on the block, the Georgetowne compensates for its casualness with expertly prepared courses. Chicken marsala with fresh mushrooms, as well as prime rib au jus with Yorkshire pudding, offer lip-smacking perfection -- especially when accompanied by the chef's veggies, house salad, cheeses and an imported pint or two from the bar.

Loved the French Onion Soup
By Butlermsjoy on 08/31/2008
I was there only once at my husband's company Christmas Party. A side from the tables being a little too close together, we had a great time there , that was the first time I had ever eaten French Onion Soup, and loved it. I was raised in Mount Washington and know that the Georgetowne inn is very popular.

The Georgetown Inn
By V1609 on 07/25/2008
The last time I was there, for lunch, the service was very poor and the food was less than good. We have gone over the years, mostly taken out of town guest and have been very pleased every time, however this last visit was certainly not worth the visit again except for the view if fortunate enough to get a table with a view.

The breaded steak was great! The view is beautiful, especially with the city lighted up.
